El Alto (the Height) is sometimes called the dormroom of La Paz. Located on the plateau dominating the City, this suburb is much much poorer. To make things worse, it is located so high (around 4200m), that, due to the lack of oxygen, sleeping there is not very restful.
Kinda ironic for a "dormroom"...
