Vaults
The Cathedral of Reims is a fine example of how medieval architects used "rib vaults" to sustain the edifice.
From 1027 to 1825 most kings of France were crowned inside its walls, and thus being a symbol of France, it was heavily bombarded and damaged by the German army during WWI.
